WOMEN
LEAD LLC
was founded to offer a variety of career development training
programs and to prepare women for solid career advancement and the
assumption of leadership positions. Its President, Anne Dewey-Balzhiser,
is herself a successful executive who has a wealth of experience
with workplace issues. She has created leadership training programs,
coached executives, and counseled individual clients on effective
career transition strategies, including mothers re-entering the
workforce.
With over
29 years of experience, Ms. Dewey-Balzhiser has served in
executive-level positions for much of her career, gaining experience
in the areas of organizational structure, strategic planning, and
executive-level training. Her ability to provide insightful career
advice stems from her own career path. She held some 15 different
positions with 5 different employers, moving into senior executive
status relatively early by constantly seeking out challenging job
opportunities. Intimately familiar with the hiring process from the
perspective of the applicant as well as that of the employer, she
draws upon this wealth of practical knowledge in the career
counseling side of her business.
Ms.
Dewey-Balzhiser developed the highly acclaimed Protégé Program for
Women in Housing & Finance, to provide leadership training for a
small group of professional women, including hands-on exercises in
public speaking, PowerPoint presentations, moderating panels, and
leading and facilitating meetings. She also developed the Executive
Leadership Development Program, which introduced participants to
high-level executive skills -- testifying before Congress, handling
press conferences, and dealing with media interviews.
Through
her leadership positions with the American Bar Association, she has
developed several programs with a career focus – Pathways to
Success for Women and Minorities in the Public Sector and
Successful Strategies for Implementing Part-Time and Other
Alternative Work Schedules. She is a sought-after speaker and
moderator for local professional groups on such topics as effective
networking, successful career transitions, and women leaders. She is
the author of Career Corner, for the ABA, and Career
Boosts, for WHF – columns which provide career development
advice.
The
mother of three children and stepmother of four, she is well
versed in the nagging questions most women have about achieving that
all-important work-life balance. |
